The best way NK® retailers can support their farmer-customers is by helping them get the right product in the right field to get the most out of every acre. Last year, Syngenta and NK Seeds introduced a new tool, the Cropwise™ Seed Selector, that combines artificial intelligence, two decades of agronomic data and satellite imagery to do just that — and enhancements are coming soon to make it an even more effective resource.
Macy Heetland, NK Digital Enablement Lead, helped digitize the NK portfolio and roll the Cropwise Seed Selector out to NK retailers last season. She says initial feedback has been very positive.
“By digitizing the NK seed portfolio, our retailers and agronomists can more efficiently gather product information and quickly learn about new hybrids,” says Heetland. “They’re taking note of the Product Analyzer feature, which houses all our data points to show how products performed in internal and external plot trials and other real-world applications.”
For the 2021 growing season, Heetland says NK will continue to train its field staff to get the most out of the tool, to help farmers get the most out of every acre. “Farmers know their fields best,” she says. “Now, NK retailers can supplement that first-hand, practical knowledge by mapping farmers’ fields, analyzing the data and producing tangible reports based on factors like soil conditions and management practices.”
This spring, teams of NK agronomists and sales team members continue to test and improve functionality. There are also plans to roll out new features in the coming months. Cropwise Imagery is one of the new features currently being tested by a group of NK sales representatives and agronomists that will allow retail users to upload drone imagery and have a mobile-based app available for in-field use.
“We’re really excited to offer farmers more data and expanded product knowledge to help them successfully place the right products on their operations,” says Heetland. “That’s what it’s really all about.”
Ask your NK retailer or agronomist for more information about field reports or Cropwise Imagery from the Cropwise Seed Selector tool.
