From there, Mark uses his agronomic expertise to dig a little deeper. “We’ll talk about the equipment and other specifics they’re using, then we’ll move to technology and start looking at their field management zones and soil types,” says Mark. “The more information I can learn from them, whether it’s from maps, history or statistical data, the better I can look at their unique situation and give them products that perform. We have an extensive portfolio of strong hybrids. It’s my job to find the ones that actually work in the environment where they’re planted.” Over the last few years, Mark and his wife have enjoyed some well-earned time off by traveling the world. From Australia to Scotland, they’ve experienced a variety of cultures and people. Fortunately for the farmers in his region, Mark’s current travel plans only include visits to the farms he loves.
