Meet Dan Oleson

For Dan, it’s the combination of seeing that retail seed sellers have the tools, training and information they need to represent the products appropriately and then making sure the growers are getting the right seed for the right acre. “We’re rolling out a new seed analyzer, which is part of our digital tools to help growers choose products, so a lot of what I do is training and preparation with the ultimate goal of correct product placement,” he says. The bottom line is that Dan wants growers, who seek out a retailer’s advice, to have confidence in the products they’re receiving. “From there, we try to have at least four to six touch points with the growers so we can see firsthand how the plants are doing,” he adds. “We have best-in-class proprietary genetics, industry-leading traits and something that’s different from what all of the other seed companies are selling, but we still need to make sure they’re performing in the field.” It’s definitely “not his father’s” NK. And he should know, because his father was an NK grower in the 1980s. “The new NK corn lineup has people rejuvenated and reinvigorated,” Dan says, and that’s just how he feels, too.
