Real Grower Stories and Tips to Increase Yield Potential

The crop canopy was farther along and greener where Storen herbicide was applied, and the late-season plant health was noticeably better where I sprayed Miravis Neo fungicide.

Marshall M.,
Newton, IL

It is without a doubt I will utilize Miravis Neo followed by Trivapro moving forward based on the overall plant performance and yield.

Gaylan S.,
Atmore, AL

We saw clean fields and some good yield bumps.

Wes S.,
Rushmore, MN

I was happy with the weed control out of the Syngenta products compared to the competitor products.

Brett P.,
Traer, IA

Answers to Your Crop Yield Questions

Why is Better Yield the Better Deal?

When margins are under pressure, it’s easy to chase the lowest price. But some products can bring more to the table when it counts. Focus only on product cost, and you may risk the return on your seed, fertilizer and everything else you’ve already paid to get your crop into the ground. The Better Yield is the Better Deal product lineup is backed by university research AND real results from growers who ran the comparison on their own ground. Through strong, reliable protection from disease, insects and weeds, our products can help deliver more consistent yield results at harvest — and that’s why Better Yield is the Better Deal.

How do seed treatments increase crop yield?

Seed treatments like CruiserMaxx® APX, Saltro® and Victrato® increase crop yield potential by protecting seeds and seedlings during the most critical early stages of growth. By defending against early-season diseases, insects and environmental stress, treated seed is more likely to emerge quickly and evenly. Using a fungicide seed treatment in soybeans can improve yield by an average of about 6% compared to untreated seed.17 A stronger, more uniform start supports healthier root development, improved stand establishment and better use of nutrients and moisture throughout the season.

If you have a minute (literally!), click here to learn more about protecting your seed investment with a seed treatment.

How do soil-applied insecticides increase crop yield?

Soil applied insecticides like Opello® increase crop yield potential in corn by protecting roots from damaging below-ground pests like corn rootworm, wireworm and white grub. By preserving root health, Opello supports plant health and reduces lodging risk, offering stronger yield potential at harvest.

Corn rootworm alone causes close to $2 billion in yield loss annually.18 Click here to see how Opello interrupts the corn rootworm lifecycle and protects yield potential.

How do herbicides increase crop yield?

Herbicides increase crop yield by removing weeds that compete with crops for sunlight, water, nutrients and space — especially early in the season when yield potential is being established. Allowing weeds to compete with corn until they reach 6 inches tall can reduce yield by about 6%, and delaying control until weeds reach 12 inches can cut yields by more than 20%.19 Delaying weed control in soybeans until VC-V1 can reduce yield by an average of 8.3 bu/A. Waiting until V3 can result in an average loss of 9.2 bu/A.20 Defend yield potential with trusted weed control. Corn herbicides like Acuron®, Acuron GT or Storen®, plus the residual preemergence soybean herbicide Tendovo®, help manage tough weeds and keep crops positioned for success.

How do fungicides increase crop yield?

Fungicides increase crop yield by protecting plants from diseases that reduce photosynthesis, stress plants and limit grain fill during critical reproductive stages. Cleaner & Greener* fungicides such as Miravis® Ace, Miravis Neo, Miravis Top and Trivapro® offer unrivaled plant-health benefits in addition to disease protection, further reducing crop stress. By keeping leaves healthier and greener longer, fungicides help crops continue converting sunlight into energy — supporting stronger plant performance and protecting yield potential in heavy or low disease pressure years.
